Jasmin Lawrence, daughter of the renowned Martin Lawrence, and Eric Murphy, son of the iconic Eddie Murphy, recently celebrated their baby shower over the weekend in anticipation of their soon-to-arrive daughter, Ari Skye.
The joyous occasion was attended by family and close friends, set against a backdrop of pink-themed decor. The venue was elegantly adorned with soft white and blush drapery gracing the ceiling, complemented by balloon arrangements in neutral and rose hues. A prominent backdrop proclaimed, “On Cloud Nine: Waiting for Ari Skye.”
In one memorable snapshot from the event, Jasmin dazzled in an off-the-shoulder rose gown, while Eric stood by her side, gently resting his hands on her baby bump. Joining them for a heartwarming photo were Martin Lawrence and Pat Smith, all beaming with joy. Eddie Murphy also made an appearance in the celebration photos, captured alongside the expectant couple.
This celebration comes just weeks after Martin Lawrence expressed his joy over the impending arrival of his grandchild. Earlier this month, he shared a touching black-and-white maternity photo of Jasmin and Eric on Instagram.
“What a blessing to start the day!” Lawrence expressed. “My heart is overflowing with love and gratitude following the announcement of my first grandchild! Jasmin also shared the news on her own Instagram, writing, “Thank you Jesus for the greatest gift,” followed by red heart emojis. In the announcement photo, Eric rested his hands on Jasmin’s baby bump as she smiled down at him.
The couple’s pregnancy announcement came after another major milestone in their relationship.
During a May 29 appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Eddie Murphy revealed that his son had quietly married Martin Lawrence’s daughter in an intimate church ceremony two weeks earlier.
“They went off, everybody was making the big wedding plans, and then they decided they wanted to do something quiet with just the two of them,” Murphy said at the time, adding with a laugh that Lawrence would no longer have to pay for a “big wedding.” “We’re in-laws,” he said.
Murphy later shared that a larger celebration could still happen in the future, explaining that the couple “just had the two of them and the preacher” for their ceremony.
The baby girl will be the first grandchild for Martin Lawrence and the fourth for Eddie Murphy.
