Dakota Johnson Sparks Romance Rumors With Machine Gun Kelly After Outing

Dakota Johnson appeared in high spirits as she stepped out in New York City on Thursday, amid growing speculation that she is dating rapper Machine Gun Kelly.

The 36-year-old actress was photographed leaving a Variety press junket, where she has been promoting her upcoming erotic thriller, Verity.

For the outing, Dakota paired a chic checked blazer with jeans as she continued the film’s promotional tour.

The appearance followed photos published earlier this week showing Johnson and MGK getting out of the same car before heading into friend Taylor Swift’s apartment.

The two reportedly remained inside the singer’s home for several hours, then checked into a nearby hotel, where they stayed overnight.

Swift was reportedly out of town when they met, according to TMZ. 

Johnson and MGK reportedly met for the first time at Swift’s recent Madison Square Garden wedding to Travis Kelce. The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for both Johnson and MGK for comment.

Their reported outing comes a month after Johnson was said to have ended her roughly eight-month relationship with singer Role Model, whose real name is Tucker Pillsbury.

The actress ‘ended their relationship a while ago,’ according to People, having first been photographed dining together on December 29 last year in Los Angeles.

The split may have come as a surprise to fans after it was claimed they were ‘very much on the same page’ and ‘it just felt easy’ between them.

Dakota had even made a flirty appearance on the Harmony singer’s newly released third studio album Chuck Timely & the Hourglass, which debuted at number ten on the US Billboard 200.

In his drunken track Love I You, Tucker is heard telling Dakota: ‘Hey, I think you’re perfect’ before she shoots back, ‘You say that to everyone.’

‘Okay, well, is it working?’ Role Model asks, to which Dakota responds: ‘Yeah, but don’t tell anyone.’ 

Tucker told Rolling Stone in August that the interlude served as him ‘publicly admitting the relationship’ even though he was hesitant at first: ‘I think keeping those things separate is probably good.’

‘And then one day [producer Mason Stoops] convinced her, and I was just like, ‘Yeah, let’s try it.’ And it was amazing. Her voice was perfect on it,’ the aspiring ‘single girl-dad’ explained to the mag.

‘Obviously, yeah, you know that’s gonna lead to discussions online, but also it made the song really special to me, and what a cool cameo to have… She did it in one try, too. It was very impressive.’

Prior to Role Model, Dakota was in an on-again, off-again relationship for eight years with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, ending for good in June last year. 

Machine Gun Kelly was previously in a relationship with actress Megan Fox for four-and-a-half years and the pair welcomed a daughter, Saga, in March of last year.

The musician and Megan, 40, had their baby girl four months after their relationship reportedly ended following claims the actress discovered he had been speaking with other women.

Despite the breakup, a source revealed in late last year Megan has been impressed by ‘how he’s stepped up for both her and the baby,’ fueling whispers that the former fiances could be finding their way back to each other.

In July, Megan used Instagram again to take a savage swipe at her former partners while firing back at a troll in the comments section of one of her lingerie photoshoot posts.

‘This s**t is so unbelievably embarrassing for a 40-year-old mom to be posting. 16-year-old Tumblr s**t,’ the Instagram user commented.

In response to the comment, Megan savagely replied: ‘Which one of my exes is this.’
