FOREIGN Secretary David Cameron has called for an urgent probe into the deaths of 117 Palestinians killed waiting for an aid convoy.

Hundreds more were injured as they crowded around lorries in Gaza.

Hamas said Israel fired at civilians. The IDF said most died in a crush after it fired warning shots.

Lord Cameron said: “There must be accountability.

“A sustained pause in fighting is the only way to get lifesaving aid in at the scale needed.”

President Joe Biden said the US will start to aidrop aid into Gaza “in the coming days”.

Last night, Hamas said seven more hostages had died in another Israeli strike.

Their deaths may now exceed 70, it said.

France, Italy and Germany yesterday joined the UN and the European Union’s foreign policy chief in demanding an investigation.

The UN Security Council held an emergency meeting into the tragedy.

UN Secretary General António Guterres said “desperate civilians” need urgent help. The UN has not been able to deliver aid to the north of the Gaza Strip in a week.

French President Emmanuel Macron said civilians had been “targeted by Israeli soldiers”, while EU foreign policy chief, Josep Borell, slammed the “totally unacceptable carnage”.
