Dazed and Confused Actor Nicky Katt Dead: Who Was Nicky Katt? Actor Nicky Katt, best known for roles in the popular indie film “Dazed and Confused” and the show “Boston Public,” has died at 54.

Actress Nicky Katt was born in the United States on May 11, 1970, and died on April 8, 2025. He started off as a kid actor and often played villains or characters who lacked empathy as an adult.

South Dakota is where Katt was born. From 1999 to their 2001 divorce, he was wed to Annie Morse.

 

In addition to his well-known supporting parts in several films directed by Christopher Nolan, Robert Rodriguez, Steven Soderbergh, and Richard Linklater, such as Dazed and Confused, The Limey, Sin City, and Insomnia, he was best known for his main role in the television series Boston Public. A Time to Kill, Boiler Room, The Way of the Gun, and Secondhand Lions were among his other cinematic credits.

 

As a kid actor, Katt made his screen debut in an episode of Fantasy Island in 1980. He later starred in the movie Underground Aces and appeared in CHiPs and V.

His portrayal as unconventional educator Harry Senate on David E. Kelley’s Fox drama series Boston Public made him famous as an adult.

He was frequently portrayed as a villain, such as a hateful business rival in Boiler Room, an irascible motorhead in Dazed and Confused, a violent police officer on the loose in Monk, and a doomed white supremacist child rapist in A Time to Kill.

In addition, Katt portrayed Adolf Hitler in Full Frontal (2002), Fred Duggar in Insomnia (2002), Nate Petite in Snow Angels (2008), Tim in SubUrbia (1996), and Stacy the hitman in The Limey (1999).

In Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, he provided the voice of Atton Rand.

He made an appearance in the Woody Allen play A Second Hand Memory’s Off-Broadway run in 2004.

John Sloss, Katt’s lawyer, confirmed his death, but no other information was shared.

At the age of 54, Katt passed away in Burbank, California, on April 8, 2025. The reason for death was not stated.
