Washington State Democrat Forced to Flee Town Hall Over SAVE Act Vote

It’s not just Democrat politicians who are going completely daffy. Democrat voters are, as well – and they are directing their ire at some of their own. Case in point: Representative Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (D-WA) was forced to flee a town hall on Thursday when attendees started to blast her for voting for the SAVE Act.

On Thursday, U.S. Representative Marie Gluesenkamp Perez walked into a town hall attended by hundreds of her constituents in Vancouver and was met with resounding boos.
Voters were upset she’d voted for the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act and other pieces of legislation.

The second-term congresswoman struggled to speak over the disturbances during the hour-long event, according to KOIN 6.

Attendees told the outlet they wanted their representative to know they were outraged, even though Gluesenkamp Perez had told them the bill wouldn’t pass in the Senate.

Outraged! Outraged, I say! Bear in mind that these people are outraged over their representative’s vote for election integrity. This was an act that, among other things, required anyone registering to vote to have proof of citizenship. That’s not an onerous request; especially since one has to have an ID to carry out any of the normal tasks of a citizen (opening a bank account, cashing a check, buying booze, etc.) and the RealID requirements are now in place.

But Democrats fight any attempt at election integrity; one of these 80-20 issues that they are on the wrong side of.

The real problem that Rep. Gluesenkamp Perez had was trying to excuse her vote. She would have done better to have stood up like a grown-up and said, “Yes, this is an act to help ensure election integrity, and everyone should support that.”

Anna Brouns, who lives in the congresswoman’s district, said: “I came here to hear what she has to say. Unfortunately, it always sounds like the same thing.”

She said she wants the representative to be angrier than she is and get more done.

Yes, because being angry always helps persuade people. Has Anna Brouns been talking to David Hogg? Righteous outrage is kind of his stock-in-trade, along with having the charm and appeal of a windshield wiper and the political savvy of coffee grounds.

The congresswoman was whisked away after the event for security concerns, her team told the TV station.

These people aren’t threatening a Republican, mind you. They are threatening one of their own. That’s well beyond daffy.
