On Thursday’s episode of “Money, Power, Politics” aired on MS NOW, commentator Donny Deutsch asserted that Democrats have derailed from their traditional views due to an inclination toward anti-American socialism.
Host Stephanie Ruhle remarked, “Despite dissatisfaction among voters regarding Trump’s role, they seem to be favoring Republicans. If economic conditions remain stagnant until November, could this sway voter sentiment? Do Democrats need to refine their economic messaging as Republicans retain their reputation as being favorable to business?”
Deutsch responded, “Indeed, Democrats appear to have lost their way. Instead of concentrating on issues like affordability, which directly affect voters, they’ve shifted their focus to topics such as Anti-Semitism and Socialism.”
Ruhle interjected, “Not every Democrat subscribes to those views.”
Deutsch elaborated, “True, not all, but the enthusiasm of the party seems directed there. Recently elected candidates illustrate this trend—one implies a Colorado firebombing during a vigil for Hamas-held hostages wasn’t Anti-Semitic, while another, noted for attending a pro-Hamas rally in New York on October 8, reflects these sentiments.”
He added, “This is ridiculous. And they’re both running on anti-American, socialistic, let’s blow up — let’s abolish ICE, let’s abolish prisons, let’s abolish everything, let’s abolish the police. It’s insane. And the Republicans are going to tar them with this. This is the problem. Even though they are a small sector of the party, right now every Republican strategist is salivating over what these people have said in the past, and they’re going to wallpaper with it, and the Democrats are going down a bad path. They’re electing these Democratic Socialists. It’s a disaster, no matter what you think of it, wherever your politics are, it’s bad strategy.”
