Democrats dropping more f-bombs than in 'The Big Lebowski': Former Bush spokesperson

Former Bush spokesperson Pete Seat slammed Democrats for their criticism of the Trump administration’s policies, saying that party lawmakers are dropping more “f-bombs than there are in ‘The Big Lebowski.’”

Seat made the comments on CNN on Thursday in response to Rep. Maxine Waters’s (D-Calif.) statement earlier in the day accusing Trump of seeking to start a civil war.

“But as I listen to her and her apocalyptic premonitions, and then I see some of her colleagues in the House of Representatives and the Senate drop more f-bombs than there are in ‘The Big Lebowski,’ I think maybe they finally hit their stride: say crazy stuff and become your own worst enemy,” Seat said of Waters, referencing the popular 1998 comedy film.

Waters, a long-time critic of President Trump, said Thursday that the early flood of presidential policies — the disruptive tariffs, mass firings of federal employees and empowerment of tech billionaire Elon Musk to gut the government and the services it provides — mean Trump wants to incite violence.

“This president is putting us in a position where hungry people are going to be on the street. Where nonprofits, who were waiting for their checks, are not gonna get them. Where seniors waiting for their Social Security check, will not get it. Where poor families with children will not get what they believe the government has agreed to do,” she told reporters during the Democrats’ annual issues retreat in Northern Virginia.

“And so when that happens, what does Trump expect? Oh, I believe he expects violence. I believe he expects confrontation. I believe he’s working towards a civil war,” she added.

Speaking at the retreat, Rep. Andrea Salinas, a second-term Oregon Democrat, also strongly criticized the administration.

“Trump lied to those who voted for him. And I know that those in my district who voted for Trump did not vote for this s—storm,” Salinas said during a press briefing amid the Democrats’ annual strategy retreat in Leesburg, Va.

“They did not vote for that. That wasn’t the deal.”

Other Democratic lawmakers have also voiced concerns over the Trump administration’s handling of affairs, often using strong language.

Last month, Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) delivered a short and blunt message to tech billionaire and Department of Government Efficiency head Elon Musk outside the Capitol.

“If you could speak directly to Elon Musk, what would you say?” a reporter asked her, in a clip now widely circulated on social media.

“F— off,” Crockett replied.
