During a segment on CNN’s “The Arena” this past Thursday, Representative Debbie Dingell from Michigan highlighted a crucial strategy for the Democratic Party as they approach the upcoming midterm elections. She emphasized that merely opposing former President Donald Trump would not suffice as a campaign strategy.

Rep. Dingell pointed out that voters are likely to demand more comprehensive plans and visions from the Democrats, especially as they set their sights on the 2026 midterms and the 2028 presidential race.

Host Jim Sciutto engaged Dingell on this topic, referencing her long-standing call for a “Project 2028” to detail the Democratic agenda. “Did you hear elements of that in the Mamdani speech?” he inquired.

Dingell affirmed, stating, “I did, and I think what we have to. It’s not enough for us to be anti-President Trump. People want to know what we’re for and how we’re going to deliver.” She stressed the importance of clearly articulating the party’s goals and proposed solutions as they head into the 2026 congressional elections, and advised presidential hopefuls to adopt a robust stance on these issues.
