Acuna’s (pictured) attention was immediately diverted to her child, whom she urgently beckoned over. ‘Excuse me, my son just came up,’ she said. ‘I’m sorry, I’ve not seen my kid since this all went down,’ she continued, her voice beginning to break. ‘I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry,’ she kept saying as she embraced her son, who looked the part of a teenager in high school in a sweatshirt, with a mop of dark, curly hair. Acuna’s on air colleagues told her to feel free to step aside if she needed to – but she said she was fine and her son was fine too. ‘He’s okay, he’s good,’ she said to camera. ‘He’s the one who was telling me what was happening,’ she noted, adding that her sister was also delivering updates via her child, who also attends the high school.
