Another Fascism Freak-Out Bites the Dust: Disney Ends Left's Lies About Trump and Kimmel

In a recent development, a major claim surrounding President Donald Trump was debunked by a high-ranking Disney executive. The narrative, which had gained traction among legacy media outlets, Democratic circles, and Hollywood, suggested that Trump had a hand in suspending late-night host Jimmy Kimmel. However, this has been firmly dismissed.

In an interview with Bloomberg, Dana Walden, the co-chair of Disney Entertainment, clarified the situation regarding Kimmel’s six-day suspension. The disciplinary action followed Kimmel’s controversial remarks about Charlie Kirk’s murder. Walden confirmed that neither the White House nor Trump had any involvement or communication with Disney concerning the suspension.

The decision to suspend Kimmel was made solely by Walden and Disney CEO Bob Iger, who both later decided to reinstate the television host. This clarification emerges around the 18:15 mark of the conversation.

Both Walden and Disney CEO Bob Iger were the people who decided to suspend Kimmel and then made the choice to bring him back. It comes at the 18:15 minute mark.

For further insight, see TPUSA’s Andrew Kolvet’s take on Jimmy Kimmel’s return monologue, where he calls him an ‘Unrepentant Liar.’

Additionally, while ABC has reinstated Jimmy Kimmel, Nexstar maintains a differing stance saying ‘Nope.’

She shook her head no and said, “He [Trump] did not. We did not hear from them.”

“We were thinking about only one thing as we made that decision very close to his show going back up on that Wednesday,” Walden said. “And that was the situation was extremely heated. We wanted to take the temperature down.”

“We didn’t think that was going to be possible that night,” she added. “So we hit pause to have conversations with Jimmy. We wanted to resolve the situation in a certain way to protect our employees, to think about our audience.”

And then there were reports about how upset people were about Kimmel’s suspension, with allegedly a massive spike in cancellations of Hulu and Disney+ subscriptions, something Walden also shut down.

“Well, I think those reports were highly exaggerated,” Walden said. “You saw the number of subscribers that we reported during our earnings. We had a very strong quarter. I think that this issue is firmly in our past.”

I am truly shocked, as I am sure you are, that all these claims were in fact lies. Because all we heard about from the minute the suspension of “Jimmy Kimmel Live” was announced was that Trump and/or his Federal Communications Commissioner, Brendan Carr, allegedly used their power to suppress Kimmel’s free speech.

The Left Is Celebrating His Return, but I Don’t Think Jimmy Kimmel’s Show Is Long for This World

Outrage from the Left ranged from former President Barack Obama to anyone with a microphone on the Left, claiming that his suspension was a new level of “cancel culture” coming from the White House.

Huge Hollywood stars even signed a letter condemning the suspension and opposing censorship of people who are not silenced, as my RedState colleague Brad Slager reported.

Slager wrote:

This letter alleges that we are now in a time where censorship and the silencing of voices are seen on the regular. If we were to believe this missive, at every turn, there are efforts to eliminate our rights to free expression.

And the letter included the following, which Walden has now proved were lies. It read:

The federal government is once again engaged in a coordinated campaign to silence critics in the government, the media, the judiciary, academia, and the entertainment industry. We recognize that we represent just one group of many who are under threat right now. Across classrooms, libraries, factories, companies and workplaces of all kinds, Americans of every walk of life are facing intimidation and censorship too — and we stand with them.

Even Kimmel carried on the lie to his audience, claiming there was some kind of government suspension, with his bit involving Robert DeNiro as Carr suggesting the government was using “mob tactics” to suppress free speech.

They all lied. And we knew it. Still waiting for corrections.
