AN urgent search is underway for a suspected murderer who may have fled the country after a woman’s body was found at an airport.
Margaret Mbitu, 31, was missing for two days before police found her remains inside a car at Logan Airport in Boston.
Mbitu’s family reported her missing after she was last seen leaving her job on Monday, October 30.
By 6:30 pm on Wednesday, Massachusetts State Police troopers had found Mbitu’s body inside a vehicle at the airport in Boston.
The car had a large amount of blood inside, according to local NBC affiliate WGBX-TV.
That led the district attorney to rule her death a homicide.
Mbitu suffered large slash wounds to her face and neck, as well as puncture wounds on her side, WGBX reported.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Kevin Kangethe, who cops believe killed the 31-year-old woman.

The day prior to Mbitu’s body being found, Kangethe bought tickets to Kenya, according to a warrant obtained by the network.
Surveillance footage captured him driving into the parking garage at the airport, moments before he left to check in for his flight.
The two were believed to have known each other and cops don’t believe that it was a random attack.
“There is no threat to the public or to Logan Airport travelers. No further information is being released at this time to protect the integrity of the investigation,” the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office said in a statement.
Authorities are currently working with Kenyan officials to locate the suspected murderer.
The news has devastated Mbitu’s family.
“The entire family, everybody’s down,” Mbitu’s mother said.
“I’m not myself right now. This is heartbreaking.”
“We have lost a beautiful girl that we all loved,” her cousin, George Kamu, said.
“Whenever you saw that beautiful smile, that’s what you would see all the time.”
Police continue to look through surveillance video from the parking garage to see if they can find more evidence.
