LAW enforcement has uncovered human remains that are believed to be linked to a missing person’s case.
On Tuesday, police uncovered human remains behind a California home, in Los Angeles, that they believe to belong to a missing Guatemalan man, Carlos DeLeon.
Police had received a tip that DeLeon,35, was dead and his body was buried in a North Hills backyard.
A search warrant was issued for the home on Tuesday morning.
Law enforcement spent hours at the residence, where a search and rescue team ended up finding the remains buried in the backyard.
LAFD crew members dug deep beneath the ground underneath a structure used for storage near the pool house.
“This is a very large property. It’s roughly an acre. To the rear of the area near the swimming pool, there were some areas that may have had recent alterations,” LAPD Deputy Chief Alan Hamilton explained in a press conference.

“That is the area where the remains were discovered earlier today.”
Russell Robinson, 48, was taken into custody where he was arrested for murder. He is currently being held on $2million bail.
“There is a connection between the two, and we believe that individual is directly responsible for the homicide that we are now investigating,” Hamilton said.
Police revealed that they have been looking for Deleon since June of this year.
During the press conference, Hamilton stated that he is “comfortable that we have the right person in custody.”
They have not revealed how he died, but the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner was at the scene.
“We quickly determined that it was not going to be a surface-type investigation,” said Hamilton.
“So we made arrangements to have the coroner’s investigating team come out that specializes in exhuming human remains and making sure that no evidence is missed.”
