DONALD Trump is set to sign off on an Iron Dome-style missile defense system in a new executive order.

New Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth teased the move, along with multiple other significant executive orders expected to be signed by the president on Monday.

“Today, there are more executive orders coming that we fully support,” Hegseth told reporters at the Pentagon.

“On removing DEI inside the Pentagon, reinstating troops who were pushed out because of COVID mandates, Iron Dome for America,” he added.

“This is happening quickly.”

Trump’s order would create an American version of Israel’s defense system, which targets and shoots down incoming threats, including drones, hypersonic weapons, and missiles.

The plan, known as Iron Dome for America, was one of Trump’s campaign promises ahead of the presidential election.

“In my next term, we will build a great Iron Dome over our country, a dome [that] has never seen before, a state-of-the-art missile defense shield that will be entirely built in America,” Trump said at a rally in June, prompting cheers from the crowd.

“We’re going to build the greatest dome of them all,” he promised.

The 2024 GOP platform vowed, “Republicans will ensure our Military is the most modern, lethal and powerful force in the world.

“We will invest in cutting-edge research and advanced technologies, including an Iron Dome Missile Defense Shield, support our troops with higher pay, and get woke leftwing Democrats fired as soon as possible.”

However, due to America’s geography, officials have expressed doubts that a billion-dollar nationwide missile defense system is necessary or even possible.

“You can’t defend the entire United States,” former general Glen VanHerck told ABC News.

“It’s unrealistic, unaffordable and unachievable.”

However, Trump promised the system would be worthwhile and that most of it would be built in Arizona.

“Ronald Reagan wanted to do it many, many years ago, but they didn’t really have the technology,” Trump said at a rally in Phoenix last month.

“But they have it now, you can knock a needle out of the sky.”

NEW PENTAGON BOSS

Meanwhile, Hegseth’s excitement for Trump’s actions falls on his first full day leading the Department of Defense.

The Pentagon chief was confirmed on Friday after three Republican senators went against their party to vote against him following allegations of sexual abuse and drinking on the job.

He said on Monday it’s the “honor of his lifetime” to lead the department.

“Our job is lethality and readiness and war fighting,” Hegseth said.

“We will be no better friend to our allies and no stronger adversary to those who want to test us.”

Trump’s order comes as national security concerns continue to grow due to mysterious drone sightings.

The new president signed a series of executive orders immediately after being inaugurated last Monday, kickstarting swift changes with his historic return to the White House.
