Donald Trump: Why Was Former President Arrested The Fourth Time

Following his detention for attempting to rig the 2020 election results in Georgia, Donald Trump made history by becoming the first former president to appear for a mugshot. He posted the picture on X, the site formerly known as Twitter.

The 77-year-old was fingerprinted by authorities after being detained for the fourth time this year at the Fulton County jail.

In contrast to his previous three arrests in New York City, Miami, and Washington, DC, he had his booking photo taken on Thursday in Atlanta.

He tweeted for the first time since January 2021.

Trump was booked and given the prisoner identification number P01135809 after having his height and weight pre-recorded and typed on the booking forms.

After less than 20 minutes inside the notorious jail, he was subsequently freed after posting 10% of his $200,000 bond.

The former president left his Bedminster, New Jersey, residence on Thursday afternoon for Georgia.

The millionaire, who was born in New York, first rode in a motorcade to the airport in Newark where he boarded a Boeing 757 for a flight to Atlanta.

He landed in Atlanta shortly after 7 o’clock, waved to the waiting journalists, and gave them the thumbs up before getting out of the vehicle and being taken 14 miles to the jail.

Trump’s fans cheered loudly upon his arrival at the Fulton County jail on Rice Street in downtown Atlanta, while his opponents occasionally booed him.

He was processed far more rapidly than other accused offenders, spending only about 25 minutes inside the dilapidated prison where seven people have died in jail since the year’s beginning.

Trump’s height, weight, and the hues of his eyes and hair were all noted.

His bond was paid, and his fingerprints and booking photo were taken.

On Thursday at 7:55 p.m., he was back in his motorcade and headed for the Atlanta airport.

On the tarmac, Trump proclaimed that it was “a very sad day for America.”

He added, “We did nothing wrong, and I did nothing wrong,” calling it “a travesty of justice.”

Trump said: ‘This is election interference. So I want to thank you for being here. We did nothing wrong. We had every right, every single right, to challenge an election we think was dishonest.’

He then boarded his plane and flew back to New Jersey.

A flurry of nine of Trump allies have turned themselves in to the Georgia prison so far this week before the Friday deadline

Before the deadline on Friday, a flurry of nine Trump associates have surrendered to Georgia’s penitentiary so far this week.

Trump called Georgia District Attorney Fani Willis a “Radical Left, Lowlife District Attorney” before he submitted.

Hours after Willis set the trial date, he surrendered.

She asked for the start of Trump’s trial to be on October 23, which is largely considered to be an impossibly soon date.

Mark Meadows, his former chief of staff, turned himself in to police on Thursday as well.

The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office released the mugshots of a few additional Trump supporters and ‘co-conspirators’ on Thursday after they turned themselves into the Georgia prison this week.

They are charged with participating in a ‘conspiracy’ hatched by Trump to illegally alter the election’s result.

‘America’s Mayor,’ Rudy Giuliani, was one of them, and on Wednesday after being arrested at the Atlanta jail, he had to endure the humiliation of having his picture taken for a mugshot.

Giuliani can be seen in the photo facing directly ahead with a slight scowl, overhead illumination beaming on his forehead, and a sheriff’s badge hanging on the wall to his right.

The former Trump attorney is accused with the same 13 felonies as Trump, including allegations of RICO.

For Giuliani, a former mafia boss prosecutor who was known for using the RICO Act to bring down the Mafia in the 1980s while serving as a Manhattan prosecutor, it was a stunning and significant turn of events.

Following the publication of Giuliani’s mugshot, Trump criticized the 79-year-old’s arrest in a Truth Social post.

The most successful mayor of New York City in recorded history was just taken into custody in Atlanta, Georgia, for his support of election integrity. THE ELECTION WAS STOLEN AND FRAUDULENT. HOW DEADENING FOR OUR NATION. MAGA!’ Trump penned.

Immediately, Mark Meadows had a jail record in the Fulton County database with information on his weight and height (6-foot-1 and 240 pounds, respectively).

It described him as having blue eyes and ‘gray or partially gray’ hair.

He has a small scowl on his lips and is glaring aggressively into the camera in the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office photo.

John Eastman, an attorney, and Scott Hall, a bail bondsman, were the first co-defendants to surrender; they showed up at the Fulton County jail on Tuesday.

On January 6, while presiding over the joint session of Congress, Eastman authored a letter outlining actions Mike Pence, the then-vice president, could take to obstruct the counting of electoral votes in order to keep Trump in power.

Former Coffee County GOP chair Cathy Latham and former Georgia GOP chairman and state lawmaker David Shafer turned themselves in at the jail early on Wednesday morning; both of their bail were set at $75,000 each.

They have all been released.
