Marjorie Taylor Greene backed Tucker Carlson in his feud with Donald Trump over the president’s stance on Iran after Trump called the former Fox News host ‘kooky’ and mocked his independent show.
Carlson has suggested Trump abandoned ‘America First’ principles to support Israel against the Iranians which has led to multiple responses from the president.
He wrote Monday night on Truth social: ‘Somebody please explain to kooky Tucker Carlson that,’ IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON!’
Greene – one of Trump’s closest allies in Congress and a conservative firebrand who is also against war with Iran – rushed to Carlson’s defense after Trump immortalized the broadcaster with a nickname.
‘Tucker Carlson is one of my favorite people. He fiercely loves his wife, children, and our country. Since being fired by the neocon network Fox News, he has more popularity and viewers than ever before,’ she wrote on social media.
Greene added that her beliefs are ‘unapologetically’ the same as Carlson’s.
She says that ‘if we don’t fight for our own country and our own people then we will no longer have a country for our children and our grandchildren.’
The Georgia Congresswoman added that getting involved in a Middle Eastern war will ‘put America last, kill innocent people, are making us broke, and will ultimately lead to our destruction.’

She ended by referencing Trump’s new nickname for Carlson. ‘
‘That’s not kooky. That’s what millions of Americans voted for. It’s what we believe is America First.’
DailyMail.com has reached out to the White House for comment on Greene’s statement.
Earlier Monday, Trump bashed Carlson’s newfound DIY status during a press conference at the G7 standing alongside UK Prime Minister Kier Starmer.
Trump responded to criticism from the ex-Fox News host that he’s being too aggressive on his Iran stance as the country wages war with Israel.
‘I don’t know what Tucker Carlson is saying. Let him go get a television network and say it so that people listen,’ he snapped back.
The former host was spectacularly fired from the news network in April 2023 and started his own independent network.
It followed Carlson’s appearance on the War Room show with Steve Bannon to discuss the ongoing debate about Iran and the role the United States should play.

He revealed that, despite the insults, he ‘loved’ President Trump and wanted him to be successful, but warned that the Israeli military operations against Iran threatened to get America further dragged into the conflict.
‘A full-scale war with Iran,’ he argued, ‘would end, I believe, Trump’s presidency, effectively end it, so that’s why I’m saying this.’
Carlson said if he could speak to Trump about the conflict, he would urge him to act in America’s interests and bring peace to the region.
‘I would say to him, you’re the only person who can bring peace. You should continue to try and do that, it’s difficult, it takes a long time but your timetable is the only timetable that matters, don’t get bum rushed,’ he said.
Carlson said he was hopeful that the president would move to deescalate the conflict.
‘We’re in the final stages of being able to pull back and pretty soon there’s no pulling back,’ he said, calling for ‘active steps to prevent the inevitable’ war in the Middle East that could escalate into ‘world war.’
Carlson was angry at what he described as ‘lies’ about Trump’s commitment to peace in Iran, criticizing reports suggesting the president only used the peace process to lure Iran into complacency while Israel planned their attacks.
‘They’re lying about him. He sincerely believes now that this could be a predicate to a peace deal, he really thinks that and wants that,’ he said.

Carlson spoke as the president was in Canada for the G7 summit talks on Monday.
‘I wish the president was not in Canada. I don’t wish a trip to Canada on anyone…I hope he gets home soon because you don’t want any of that Canadian to rub off on you while you’re there,’ he said.
Trump left the G7 in Calgary on Monday evening to handle the crisis in the Middle East.
He warned that Israeli president Bibi Netanyahu would continue to try to get the United States further involved in their war, but urged him to deliver a tough message to Israel.
‘I think this can be stopped but it’s going to require a really tough step which is to say to our client state which is to say, ‘We love you, we want to help you, we don’t think you’re acting in your own interest … what we’re not going to do is imperil American national security, the American economy, or America itself on your behalf,’ he said.
On Sunday, Trump made it clear he is still the leader of the MAGA movement after Carlson’s questioning.
‘Well, considering that I’m the one that developed America First, and considering that the term wasn’t used until I came along, I think I’m the one that decides that,’ he said.
The former Fox News host has poked at conservatives of late for pushing Americans to follow Israel in their preemptive strikes against Iran into what Carlson describes as an ‘all out war.’

Trump said the framing Carlson used of ‘warmongers and peacemakers’ in a post on Sunday was naïve

In a newsletter sent out Friday, Carlson called his long-time ally Trump ‘complicit in an act of war,’ while he slammed conservatives close to the president as ‘warmongers’ in a social media post the same day
In a newsletter sent out Friday, Carlson called his long-time ally Trump ‘complicit in an act of war,’ while he slammed conservatives close to the president as ‘warmongers’ in a social media post the same day.
Trump told The Atlantic he was not familiar with Carlson’s comments but said the framing he used of ‘warmongers and peacemakers’ as naïve.
‘For those people who say they want peace – you can’t have peace if Iran has a nuclear weapon. So for all of those wonderful people who don’t want to do anything about Iran having a nuclear weapon – that’s not peace.’
‘Iran cannot have a nuclear bomb, very simple. Regardless – Israel or not Israel – Iran cannot have a nuclear bomb,’ the president added.
The president reiterated this stance on Truth Social Monday night.
‘AMERICA FIRST means many GREAT things, including the fact that, IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!’
