He made the announcement around 12 minutes into a video titled Celebration of Life: Donna Jordan – Drop Diamonds.

He said: “I’m Matt Jordan and this video will end right here.”

In the clip, Matt revealed his wife had battled an illness for several years.

He said her ill health had become more acute over the past three months.

“She needed more treatments,” Matt said.

He then opened up about his relationship with Donna, 66, revealing they first met when he was 16.

Matt reminisced that she had been making quilts ever since he met her.

“We’ve been working on our craft of fabric and quilts for about 50 years,” he said.

Matt said his wife didn’t believe that she could make money from producing quilts.

Before Matt made the announcement, Donna had been showing viewers how to make a quilt called “drop diamonds.”

Thousands of tributes to the influencer have been posted under the video.

Donna’s son, James, revealed he had been filming his mom on a cell phone for eight years.

“She was such a caring, funny person, full of joy and had such a passion for quilting,” he told her fans.

“We love you all so much, thank [sic] for watching and sharing quilting with us for so many years.”

Fans have been left devastated by her death.

“I found myself crying for a lady I never met but who provided me (and many more like myself) with the inspiration to quilt,” one mourner said.

“This is such a shock,” another said.

“I feel like I’ve lost my best friend in quilting.

“She enabled me to begin my quilting journey for real back in 2014.

“She made me realize I could do it without fear of doing it wrong.”

Donna and Matt’s Instagram account Jordan Fabrics has more than 40,000 followers.

The last clip uploaded to the account was on May, 17, last year.

Donna proudly showed off her patchwork called The Little Dipper Lone Star.

The couple’s social media account was littered with a litany of patchwork and quilts.
