The love child of late hospitality magnate John Hemmes, who won $1.75m from his father in court, has faced court after allegedly injuring a motorcyclist in a crash in Sydney’s east.Â
Edward Cameron appeared before Waverley Local Court on Tuesday charged with negligent driving occasioning actual bodily harm and not giving way to another vehicle – both first offences.
Court documents state Mr Cameron was driving his Subaru Outback about 11am at Bondi Beach on November 11 when police allege he failed to give way to Honda motorbike at the intersection of Campbell Ave and Wairoa Ave.
Police allege Mr Cameron caused grievous bodily harm while driving his Subaru Outback. Checks reveal the 10-year-old car has not been registered since the incident.
Mr Cameron has not entered any pleas and will reappear before in court on June 27.
If convicted, Mr Cameron faces a maximum penalty of nine months in prison for a first offence.

Outside court, Mr Cameron blew up telling NCA NewsWire he did not want to be in the public spotlight.
The 27-year-old rose to prominence during a fierce court battle following the death of his father, Mr Hemmes, who refused to have a relationship with his son over doubts about his paternity.
Mr Hemmes died from cancer in 2015 aged 83 and had only a week prior transferred $5.7 million from a Swiss bank account to children Justin and Bettina, The Daily Telegraph reported.Â

NSW Supreme Court Justice Geoff Lindsay ordered Mr Cameron be paid $1.75 million plus his legal fees from a superannuation fund following a court hearing in 2018.
A spokesman for the family claimed at the time Mr Cameron had previously refused to take a DNA test, leading to doubts from Mr Hemmes over whether he was his biological son. He eventually undertook a DNA test.

Court documents tendered to the court in 2018 revealed John Hemmes had a relationship with Fiona Cameron from 1983 to late 1989, with Mr Cameron born in June 1990.
Justin Hemmes, Mr Hemmes’ other son, runs Merivale which owns more than 50 bars and restaurants including The Ivy, the Coogee Pavilion, The Newport Arms, and The Collaroy Hotel.
According to Mr Cameron’s website and LinkedIn account, the 27-year-old is a product designer and previously worked in Germany before returning to Australia. He is also the co-founder of We Are Goodness.
