Erika Kirk, the widow of slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk , said God will take vengeance on her husband’s accused killer and that she’s ‘so glad I’m not you.’ Erika, 37, made the remarks while fighting back tears during a live interview with Megyn Kelly Saturday night in Glendale, Arizona . In discussing suspected assassin Tyler Robinson, whom Erika said she had forgiven at Charlie’s public memorial in September, she told Kelly that she resists letting anger take over.
‘The enemy would love for me to be angry,’ she said. ‘He would love it’. She went on to explain that ill will ‘would distract me from building what Charlie entrusted to me, raising our babies, Turning Point, being there for the team, being there for what the future holds.’ Kelly marveled at how Kirk had the capacity to forgive Robinson, 22.
‘If you could say something to him, like, if you could say something to his parents, what would it be? Would it be anger? Would it sympathy? What would it be?’ the former Fox News host asked. ‘That’s a good question,’ Erika responded, before a long pause. ‘It wouldn’t be sympathy. It wouldn’t be anger.’ After another lengthy lull, Erika said: ‘How do you put this?
‘Anything that I could ever wish upon him or the family would pale in comparison of the justice of God – and so, I look at them, almost like, “I’m so glad I’m not you.”‘ At another point in the conversation, Erika revealed that had been ‘praying to God’ she was pregnant after her husband was shot at Utah Valley University September 10. Erika confirmed she was not. ‘You told me this in private. How many kids did you want to have?’ Kelly asked.
‘We wanted to have four,’ Erika responded. ‘Oh, wow,’ Megyn replied. ‘I thought of that once. Whether it was meant to be or whether we’d get news like that.’ Erika continued: ‘I was like, oh, goodness, that was going to be the ultimate blessing out of this catastrophe.’ Erika also revealed what Vice President JD Vance whispered in her ear during an intimate hug they shared onstage last month at a Turning Point event honoring Charlie that sparked intense online speculation.
‘So for those of you who know me, I’m very-,’ Erika said as Kelly finished her statement: ‘You’re an intense hugger!’ ‘My love language is touch, if you will … So I will give you a play by play. They just played the emotional video. I’m walking over, he’s walking over. I’m starting to cry. He says, “I’m so proud of you.” And I say, “God bless you,” and I touch the back of his head. ‘Anyone whom I have hugged that I have touched the back of your head when I hug you, I always say, “God bless you.’”
Her husband was slain at age 31 after founding Turning Point USA and turning it into one the most visible youth organizations in the entire US. The company is now run by Erika, a former Miss Universe contestant, who said at Charlie’s memorial service that she forgave Robinson ‘because it’s what Christ did.’ ‘The answer to hate is not hate,’ she said at the time. Kelly called it ‘an extraordinary moment.’
In a surprising twist, the latest episode of the popular reality TV show has left fans buzzing. Last night’s broadcast took an unexpected turn when a longstanding contestant was suddenly eliminated after a dramatic showdown. Viewers were left on the edge of their seats as tensions flared and alliances were tested.
