Erika Kirk shared a poignant moment of prayer, hoping for a pregnancy, following the tragic death of her husband, Charlie Kirk, co-founder of Turning Point USA. She urged young couples not to delay starting a family.
During a recent appearance at a sold-out event in Glendale, Arizona, Erika joined Megyn Kelly for the final stop of “The Megyn Kelly Live Tour.” The two discussed Erika’s heartfelt prayer and how her children are coping with the immense loss of their father.
In their conversation, Kelly noted that Erika and Charlie had two children together and inquired about how many children the couple had envisioned having.

Kelly pointed out that Erika and Charlie shared two kids, and asked her how many she and the late husband had dreamed of having.
“We wanted to have four, and I was praying to God that I was pregnant when he got murdered…” Erika said, as her voice cracked and she got emotional, wiping tears, clearly bringing up an emotional issue for her.
“I was like, oh goodness, that would be the ultimate blessing out of this catastrophe,” she added. “So now, when I see young couples, I tell them, please, don’t put it off. Especially if you’re a young woman, don’t put it off.”
“You can always have a career. You can always go back to work,” Kirk continued. “You can never just go back to having children. And they grow so fast and so quickly. But I was praying. Both of us were. We were really excited to just expand our family.”
Kelly said what many others have been thinking, that we would eventually learn that Erika was expecting after Charlie’s death. But that message never came.
“One day they’ll find out, right now they’re just little loves, and one day, they’ll find out that they’re Charlie Kirk’s children, and they’ll know what that means,” Kelly said, bringing cheers from the audience.

At one point, Kelly asked Erika about the kids and how they are dealing with the loss, asking specifically about how their three-year-old daughter was doing. It comes at the 10:06 minute mark in the clip below.
“We talk about heaven…I just want her to know that Daddy is having so much fun and building a place for her and our family in heaven,” Erika said.

Before that horrible day on September 10 when Charlie was assassinated on the Utah Valley University campus, Erika had made a post on Facebook on September 2 showing her and Charlie walking through the woods.
The message included seemed to definitely suggest that the two were either expecting or planning to grow their family.
It read:
…walk the countdown with us. 9.16.205
However, when that day came, there was no update. Erika never sent another message about what this meant, leaving many to wonder. So, Kelly asking her about whether she’s expecting truly brings heartbreaking news.
Erika has made it her mission to pick up the mantle and continue her late husband’s incredible mission to spread conservative values to the next generation. Prayers up to the Kirk family.
