The warning is a part of the union’s Preparedness Union Strategy, which calls for the collection of essential supplies, Euro News reported.

“In the EU, we must think different because the threats are different, we must think bigger because the threats are bigger too,” Hadja Lahbib, the Commissioner for humanitarian aid and crisis management, told the outlet.

“The COVID pandemic has shown that the added value of acting together in solidarity, in coordination, in the European Union framework is absolutely crucial,” she continued. “This is what makes us more efficient, makes us stronger.”

Luckily for European Costco members, the store’s ReadyWise Emergency Food Bucket allows them to buy their preparedness supplies in one trip.

Often bought by those who live in areas with frequent storms, limiting shoppers’ ability to go to the store, the ReadyWise bucket has a shelf life of 25 years and contains 150 servings of food.

“In a world where unpredictability has become a constant, our assortment takes on a vital role in emergency preparedness,” the description for the product reads.

“Imagine the sudden onset of severe weather, the challenges of unexpected job transitions, or the unsettling thought of food shortages.

“These are the moments when having a reliable source of sustenance becomes a game-changer.”

The black bucket kit has just about everything survivalists would need to sustain themselves should a sudden war break out.

ReadyWise’s kit includes: 12 servings of pasta alfredo, six servings of teriyaki rice, 12 servings of apple cinnamon cereal, 16 servings of “orange drink,” and more.

In total, the meals equal 25,280 calories.

Each meal can be made by “simply adding water,” which is perfect for those who lose electricity.

“It’s not just about survival; it’s about maintaining a sense of normalcy, comfort, and even enjoyment during challenging times,” the description reads.

“In a world where disruptions have become the norm, the Comprehensive Bucket Assortment from ReadyWise stands as a symbol of your commitment to being prepared.

“It’s a tangible reminder that taking charge of your preparedness can mean the difference between uncertainty and confidence, between anxiety and stability.”

Costco customers can buy the life-saving bucket for $100 online or in stores.

In addition to the ReadyWise buckets, the European Union advises citizens to add medicines, a portable radio, a flashlight, spare batteries, chargers, cash, copies of important documents, spare keys, warm clothes, and basic tools to their kits.

“The level of preparedness across the Union, across different member states is very different,” an anonymous EU official told Euro News.

“Preparedness is definitely understood in different ways across member states.”
