Exiled Journalist Reveals the Truth Behind Iran’s Regime Amid Major Strike

Iran finds itself under relentless pressure as both the United States and Israel intensify their operations against the nation. This situation is compounded by the mysterious absence of Iran’s supposed Supreme Leader, Moqtaba Khamenei, who has not been seen since the commencement of Operation Epic Fury. His whereabouts and even his state of being remain uncertain, casting a shadow of doubt over the regime’s leadership. Although a statement was purportedly issued by him for the Nowruz holiday, it lacked any personal delivery or confirmation of his involvement, leaving many skeptical. The message itself seemed disconnected from reality, boasting of “breaking the enemy” and expressing a desire for good relations with neighboring countries, despite ongoing conflicts.

A curious phenomenon has emerged, with many humorously dubbing Moqtaba as “cardboard,” due to the sole release of his image rather than any live appearances. This has sparked a meme culture around him, adding a layer of ridicule to the regime’s current predicament. Khosro Isfahani, a journalist in exile and the Research Director for the National Union for Democracy in Iran, shared insights in an interview with CNN’s Kate Bolduan. He highlighted the lengths to which the Iranian regime has gone to maintain an illusion of leadership, humorously referring to Moqtaba as the “first AI-generated leader.” Isfahani didn’t hold back, making a biting comment on Moqtaba’s lack of presence.

“We are dealing with an impotent young cleric who has all the charisma of a boiled potato,” Isfahani quipped, pointing out that any recent footage of Moqtaba is either old or artificially generated. His remarks paint a picture of a regime clinging to power through digital facades rather than actual leadership.

Further emphasizing the regime’s vulnerability, Isfahani described how key leaders, including Ali Larijani, are being systematically eliminated. Larijani, whom some had mistakenly viewed as a “moderate,” was reportedly responsible for the deaths of thousands of protesters in January. Isfahani argued that the removal of such figures is a strategic move to prevent Iran from achieving stability, illustrating the precarious state of the current Iranian leadership.

“We are dealing with an impotent young cleric who has all the charisma of a boiled potato,” Isfahani said. All the footage being put out of Moqtaba was either old or AI-generated,  he explained, “That’s the man we are dealing with.”

Isfahani explained how the leaders were being systematically taken out, including Ali Larijani, who he said had responsibility for the killing of thousands of protesters in January. That’s the guy some on the left thought was “moderate.” He said taking out those guys would block Iran from stabilizing itself.

He also pointed to the importance of taking out the Basij, the “arms” of the regime, suppressing the people, saying hundreds had been taken out, and others were afraid to show up for work.

“This is the last battle for our homeland,” Isfahani declared. “We won’t miss this chance,” he posted on X. He also posted another meme, which someone hilariously based on his interview.

We’ve seen a lot of things that have shown how much the Iranian people hate the regime. But perhaps nothing showed Isfahani’s point more than the response to a massive strike that appeared to be against an Iranian air base in Dezful, Iran. The explosion is powerful. So is the reaction.

Reports indicated that it might have hit an ammunition dump

Take that reaction and multiply it by all the people who probably feel that way.

Can a cardboard, AI-generated leader deal with all that, the U.S. and Israel? Somehow, I don’t think so.
