As Ghislaine Maxwell moved to a Texas federal prison hoping that Donald Trump will give her a presidential pardon, her one-time husband is living large with his girlfriend in a new $1.8million Massachusetts home, Daily Mail can reveal.
Scott Borgerson, 49, a former tech company CEO, is now shacked up with current girlfriend Kris McGinn, 52, at a four-bedroom property in Essex, just five miles up Cape Ann from the $7.3million mansion he once shared with Jeffrey Epstein’s infamous enabler as husband and wife.
The father-of-two quietly sold the Manchester-by-the-Sea property – known as the Phippen-Smith house – for $5.85million in July 2023, saying it was linked with ‘ugly’ memories.
Meanwhile, Maxwell, 63, who is serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking, has claimed she is broke and is having to write her own legal briefs on a prison typewriter because she can’t afford a lawyer.
Her case has been dragged into the spotlight again after it was revealed she has been in talks with the Trump administration and Congress about the disgraced financier’s associates, and is set to testify on August 11 from prison.
Borgerson had initially pledged to put up $25million to bail out his then-wife after her 2020 arrest, although a judge turned down the offer.
He later failed to attend any of the proceedings in her trial in Manhattan the following year.
Daily Mail later revealed Borgerson had moved on with McGinn in 2021, and their romance appears to be going strong ever since.

Borgerson was revealed to have secretly married Ghislaine Maxwell in 2016, and the pair divorced after her incarceration
‘Scott and Kris just look the picture of happiness whenever you see them together,’ one local shared with Daily Mail.
The couple’s four-bed, five-bath home in Essex was purchased in November 2024, according to public records.
Exclusive Daily Mail photos show that their property is under construction, with Borgerson making upgrades to their home – including a garage and mezzanine, along with solar panels.
Most recently, Borgerson was snapped cutting a relaxed figure last week as he grabbed coffee at a local café with Noah, his teenage son from his first marriage.
Borgerson was dressed casually in a navy linen shirt, shorts, and footbed sandals.
The father and son were later seen hopping in his convertible Mini Cooper and driving off.
McGinn, meanwhile, was spotted running errands in the nearby town of Manchester by the Sea.
Daily Mail reached out to Borgerson for comment.

Daily Mail revealed their relationship in 2021, when Borgerson was photographed with McGinn in the Massachusetts town
In addition to teaching yoga, McGinn covers food and cultural trends for the elite east coast enclave’s 133-year-old newspaper, The Manchester Cricket.
She has also been spotted behind the wheel of Borgerson’s convertible Tesla.
Their romance quietly bloomed after Maxwell’s arrest in Bradford, New Hampshire, in July 2020.
The two were later pictured kissing in the street by Daily Mail in 2022, and McGinn, who was also married at the time, divorced her husband a year later.
According to legal documents revealed at the time of Maxwell’s trial, she and her husband were worth a combined $22.5million. The current status of the fortune is unknown.
But the records did state that Maxwell had transferred most of her assets into ‘a trust controlled by her spouse’ in 2016.
That included one deposit of $17million, believed to be substantially the proceeds from the $15million sale of her Epstein-funded New York townhouse in 2015.
Borgerson met Maxwell in 2013 through speaking engagements connected to ocean preservation, a subject about which they shared a passion.

In the years after her trial in 2021, Maxwell’s financial challenges continued.
She was sued for $878,000 in legal fees by the lawyers who had represented her for a decade in 2022.
Maxwell’s role with Epstein has come under renewed scrutiny as the former financier’s case has taken center stage in the political world following the Trump administration’s claim that there are no new papers to reveal to the public.
Donald Trump himself mused earlier this week that he has the right to pardon Maxwell, although he said no-one had asked him to.
The intrigue grew on Friday when it was revealed that Maxwell had been moved from the federal prison in Tallahassee, Florida, where she has been held since her conviction and moved to a much cushier one in Bryan, Texas.
The move was slammed by Epstein’s victims. ‘‘This is the justice system failing victims right before our eyes,’ thundered sisters Annie and Maria Farmer and members of Virginia Giuffre‘s family in a statement obtained by Daily Mail.
While Borgerson has put his four-year marriage to Maxwell behind him and found a new romance, he is also embroiled in a legal dust-up with his first wife, Rebecca Piorunneck, over their children Noah, 17, and Abigail, 14.
The pair divorced in 2015, with Piorunneck reverting to her maiden name. Their original custody arrangement expired in December 2024.
Borgerson took his ex back to court in January as he demanded greater access to their children – and asking that she should pay more towards their education as Noah is approaching college age.
