Failed Experiment Sheds New Light on ‘Havana Syndrome’ Mystery

A Norwegian researcher’s efforts to debunk the existence of the mysterious Havana Syndrome might have inadvertently resulted in him sustaining brain damage.

Reports indicate that in 2024, the scientist, whose identity remains undisclosed, endeavored to create a microwave weapon similar to the one suspected of harming diplomats and staff at the U.S. Embassy in Havana, Cuba. His experiment took a dangerous turn during testing when his attempt to prove the device’s safety led to him experiencing severe neurological symptoms akin to those associated with Havana Syndrome.

The term “Havana Syndrome” emerged due to the significant number of American personnel at the Havana embassy experiencing these symptoms, which first appeared in 2016. The condition includes a range of sudden, unexplained symptoms such as auditory disturbances, cognitive difficulties, dizziness, headaches, and nausea. The U.S. government often refers to these cases as “Anomalous Health Incidents” (AHIs).

An account on X dedicated to uncovering the truth about Havana Syndrome described the events leading to the researcher’s condition.

Following the incident, U.S. officials reportedly visited Norway to assess the situation. Although the scientist’s symptoms do not perfectly align with those of the affected diplomats in Havana and others in countries like Russia, China, India, Colombia, the U.S., and the U.K., they are similar enough to prompt a government investigation.

An X account devoted to exposing the truth behind Havana Syndrome summed up the sequence of events leading to the scientist’s condition this way:

Let’s focus on the facts…

• A pulsed microwave device was built

• It emitted directed electromagnetic energy

• The scientist experienced neurological effects

• Pentagon and White House officials reportedly visited Norway

• The U.S. government acquired and tested a separate foreign-made pulsed RF system

Officials from the United States reportedly visited Norway after learning of the disastrous effects of the experiment. Although the scientist’s symptoms apparently aren’t a perfect match for those suffered by the diplomats in Havana – and, later, others in Russia, China, India, Colombia, the U.S. and the U.K. – they seem close enough to have warranted further investigation by the government.
