Penn State University cancelled an event that was set to feature Vice Media and Proud Boys co-founder Gavin McInnes, as well as BlazeTV contributor Alex Stein, after dozens of far-left activists mobilized outside the venue. The university formally cancelled the event over what it called “escalating threats of violence,” stressing that the speakers were “abhorrent” while urging “peaceful protests.”

Penn State released a statement announcing the cancellation of the event, which was organized by the student organization Uncensored America. “Due to the threat of escalating violence associated with tonight’s event, Penn State University Police determined that it was necessary to cancel the speaking event in the interest of campus safety,” read the statement. “Demonstrations regrettably turned violent.”

Alex Stein, who did not get a chance to speak at the event, mingled amongst the hostile crowd and proceeded to mock them. “I just wanna say you guys poor representation,” Stein began to say before dozens of assembled activists surrounded him and started cursing at him. The BlazeTV contributor appeared to be having fun with the mob, which became increasingly riled up.

At one point, one of the far-left activists spit at Stein. “I f***ing hate you!” yelled the short-haired female Penn State student who later spit. “I hope you f***ing die!”

Penn State failed to mention that the “threats of violence” were coming from the far-left students and outside activists who threatened speakers and event organizers. “The University has been clear that the views and speech of the two speakers at tonight’s student-organization-hosted event are abhorrent and do not align with the values of Penn State,” wrote the university in its statement.

The university added that it encouraged “peaceful protests.”

State police could be seen protecting the building, some of whom were on horseback. The event hosted by Stein and McInnes was billed as a satirical look at leftist cancel and outrage culture, among other things.
