FBI Investigation: Louise Lucas’s Statement Raises Eyebrows for What It Omits

On Wednesday morning, headlines emerged revealing that the FBI had initiated a search at the Portsmouth office of Virginia Senate President Pro Tempore Louise Lucas. Known for her active presence on social media, the 82-year-old senator, who often engages in provocative commentary, was notably silent on her channels.

Throughout the day, as more details unfolded, it became apparent that the investigation extended beyond her office. Searches were also conducted at other locations, including a cannabis store co-owned by Lucas. Despite the growing intrigue, there was no immediate response from the senator, who, back in March 2023, had taken to social media to declare, “Donald Trump just learned no one is above the law!” following his indictment by a Manhattan grand jury.

It wasn’t until the evening that Lucas broke her silence with an official statement. Interestingly, her message drew attention not just for its content, but for the significant omissions it contained, especially given her previous outspoken nature on matters of legal and political scrutiny.

It wasn’t until Wednesday evening that Lucas, the ringleader of the Virginia gerrymandering scheme, decided to post a formal statement, and what was especially noteworthy about it was what she left out of it.
