During a Saturday segment on Fox News Channel’s “Saturday in America,” Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) openly criticized Democratic Michigan U.S. Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed. Fetterman described El-Sayed as “essentially, a pro-Hamas candidate” and stated unequivocally that he is “not someone I could ever support.”
Fetterman expressed disapproval of Bernie Sanders’ endorsement of El-Sayed, arguing, “Bernie is there campaigning for this guy. Humble yourself, Bernie. You just pushed an accused rapist who imploded in Maine, and now you’re backing, essentially, a pro-Hamas candidate that’s been anti-American and deeply anti-Israel.” He highlighted El-Sayed’s socialist stance despite his significant earnings of $700,000 last year, critiquing him as a “phony.” Furthermore, he noted that El-Sayed’s wife, in her private practice, declines Medicaid, suggesting a disconnect with the working class. Fetterman also reproved El-Sayed for making “incredibly anti-American” comments and reminded Democrats of his involvement in the uncommitted vote during the presidential campaign when Kamala Harris was running.
Concluding his remarks, Fetterman added, “He said that Israel is as evil as Hamas. … That’s not someone I could ever support.”
