NORFOLK Southern CEO Alan Shaw has been fired over his relationship with an employee.

A company investigation found that the married man was involved in a consensual relationship with Nabanita Nag.

On Wednesday, the Norfolk Southern Board of Directors unanimously voted to fire both parties based on preliminary findings, the New York Post reported.

“This change in leadership comes in connection with preliminary findings from an ongoing investigation that determined Shaw violated company policies by engaging in a consensual relationship with the company’s Chief Legal Officer,” Norfolk Southern said.

“Shaw’s departure is unrelated to the company’s performance, financial reporting and results of operations.”

The company said Shaw’s firing was effective immediately.
