Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs and Tupac Shakur were on different sides of a rivalry Because of this, Combs resented Tupac’s success.

During Tupac Shakur’s lifetime, he was at odds with Sean “Diddy” Combs. Combs was the head of Bad Boy Records, the rival of Shakur’s Death Row Records. Shakur accused Combs of making an attempt on his life, and people have since accused him of having something to do with Shakur’s murder. Combs’ former business partner said the mogul felt a great deal of paranoia and frustration over Shakur’s success.

Combs founded Bad Boy with Kirk Burrowes. They parted ways and have since been on bad terms. Burrowes recently filed a lawsuit against Combs, in which he makes allegations of sexual abuse, sabotage, and extortion. Burrowes also made allegations about Combs’ concerns regarding Shakur.

According to USA Today, Burrowes said he “witnessed instances in which Combs expressed paranoia and frustration over Shakur’s success, indicating a deep-seated need to diminish his rival’s influence.”

Burrowes claimed that Combs’ feelings about Shakur led him to seek out ways to get him out of his way.

“Combs allegedly made statements to insiders suggesting that Shakur’s presence in the industry threatened his legacy, leading him to take increasingly aggressive measures to overshadow and eliminate competition,” reads the lawsuit.

Combs has always denied having anything to do with Shakur’s death.
