Former NFL quarterback and Fox Sports analyst Mark Sanchez was hospitalized after he was stabbed in Indianapolis on Saturday.

Sanchez is in stable condition, Fox Sports said in a statement posted on the social platform X.

“We are deeply grateful to the medical team for their exceptional care and support,” the statement read. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Mark, and we ask that everyone please respect his and his family’s privacy during this time.”

Police reported that two men, who are both not Indianapolis residents, were attacked at around 12:30 a.m. near Senate Ave. and South Washington St., according to a statement. Detectives determined the stabbings were an isolated incident.

One man was stabbed while the other received “lacerations,” police said. Police did not identify if the stabbing victim was Sanchez, but said both men were in stable condition. The investigation into the stabbing remains ongoing.

Sanchez was in Indianapolis for a Sunday Colts game against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Sanchez played eight seasons with the NFL from 2009 to 2018 after he was chosen fifth by the New York Jets in the 2009 draft, according to ESPN. Before that, he played at University of Southern California.

“Sending our thoughts and love to Mark Sanchez and his family. Hoping for a speedy recovery,” the Jets said in a short statement.

Nick Mangold and Kerry Rhodes, who both previously played on the Jets with Sanchez, reacted to the incident online.

“So sad,” Mangold said in an X post. “Pray for his recovery.”

“Send prayers up for my former teammate mark,” Rhodes said in an X post. “[Sucks] so much to see this.”

Sanchez also played for the Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins, now the Commanders.
