Jesse Watters recently revealed that his politically liberal mother participated in the ‘No Kings’ anti-Trump rally held on Saturday.

The Fox News personality has often entertained audiences with anecdotes about his mother, Anne Purvis, who holds opposing political views. This dynamic has been a source of humor on his show, The Five, as well as during his primetime segments.

Watters, 47, shared his surprise on The Five while discussing the ‘No Kings’ event. He mentioned that his mother took part in a march on Long Island.

“I know my mom was there. Can you believe my mom was there? Sometimes I think I was adopted,” he quipped.

The conservative commentator—who noted that his mother controversially excluded him from Thanksgiving last year—also expressed skepticism about the impact of liberal protests during the Trump administration.

‘They do these things – the Women’s March, BLM, the Musk stuff. The issues change but the one thing that stays the same is Trump,’ he said. 

‘They think this guy’s like crack cocaine. They get these big bursts of energy every once in a while, but long-term, this has been bad for their health. They’ve lost all power in Washington, and they’ve lost their minds.’ 

He then explained that Trump looks so powerful because predecessor Joe Biden ‘was weak.’

The Fox News host’s rivalry with his politically opposite mother Anne Purvis has long been a running joke among his co-hosts on The Five and on his own primetime show

‘Biden just sat there. So Trump is doing a lot because he’s cleaning up a lot.’

Watters said Democrats like his mother are hypocrites because ‘they love kings, they love the government telling them what to do.’

He referenced the vaccine, calls for government-run health care and Democrats’ overreaches on free speech. 

Ultimately, Watters said, most of the people marching ‘have no idea why they’re there’ but noted one exception. 

‘I mean, some of them do, like my mom knew, but if you stick a mic in front of their face, they have no clue. They’re just kind of walking around,’ he said.

Watters has previously revealed on-air how he and his staunchly Democrat mom clash over politics. 

During a popular segment called ‘Mom Texts’ Watters reads aloud his mom’s often excoriating criticism.

‘Do not name call and parrot Trump’s insults. That is beneath you,’ one such message read, The Atlantic reports.

However, the blistering feedback is often softened by a mother’s love.

‘One positive! Your tie knot looks better and you are buttoning your top button!’ Another message read.

In 2018, he told the Philadelphia Inquirer that he managed to ‘clear out’ the table at his liberal family’s Thanksgiving with his praise for Donald Trump.

‘For the eight years under Obama, Thanksgiving and Christmas were tough,’ he said.

 ‘I had a long stretch there where I had a little bit of a chip on my shoulder, and it was frustrating. 

‘But that first Thanksgiving after Trump won, I cleared out the entire Thanksgiving table. It got a little tense.’ 

Those who took to the streets on Saturday decried Trump’s actions accused him of acting more like an authoritarian leader than as the United States President.

They point to the Trump administration’s ongoing raids to find and deport illegal immigrants, and the State Department’s recent move to revoke the visas of six foreigners who allegedly mocked the assassination of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk.

Others were motivated to protest over comedian Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night ABC show being temporarily yanked off the air after he had made an assertion that Kirk’s killer was a Trump supporter. In reality, the alleged assassin was a liberal who prosecutors say seethed with hatred at Kirk over his conservative, Christian ethics.

Trump-appointed Federal Communications Commission chairman Brendan Carr announced in the aftermath that he was considering an investigation into Kimmel and ABC, and the network soon announced that it was suspending Kimmel’s show ‘indefinitely.’

Trump later suggested that any network ‘giving me all this bad press’ could see their broadcast licenses revoked. 

He has since snubbed ABC reporters covering his presidency, after longtime news anchor George Stephanopoulos abruptly cut-off Vance during a heated interview in which he asked the vice-president about rumors that Trump’s Border Czar Tom Homan accepted a $50,000 bribe in an undercover FBI sting.

In Chicago, many of the protesters seemed to focus on the President’s threat to deploy the National Guard to the city.

But despite the controversies, the Trump administration has secured a number of victories – and is even being commended for his efforts to secure a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. 

The US President was treated like a hero following the return of the 20 living Israeli hostages and the release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners, with the Knesset – Israel’s parliament – honoring Trump with a three-minute long standing ovation and chants of ‘Trump, Trump, Trump.’ 

Activists in Tel Aviv even reportedly created a massive beach display thanking Trump for his role in securing the ceasefire agreement.

Trump has also been successful in many of his dealings with foreign world leaders, and was able to raise much needed funds for the United States with his controversial tariffs.

He has managed to get foreign leaders to agree to many of his demands in order not to face retaliatory tariffs on their goods entering the US, and managed to get European members of NATO to spend more money on defense.

At the same time, Trump’s tariffs raised nearly $50 billion for the US economy as of July, with US revenues from customs duties hitting $64 billion in the second quarter of this year. 

The record high represents $47 billion more than the same period last year, according to US Treasury data. 

Trump is now apparently hoping to continue his success on the world stage, announcing last month that his Florida golf club will host next year’s G20 summit.

He said that each world leader would be treated to a separate building of the Doral estate in December 2026.

But before then, the President aims to get one more momentous peace deal across the finish line – this time between Russia and Ukraine.

He has reportedly insisted that Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelensky cede the entire Donbas region to Russian President Vladimir Putin and agree to Putin’s terms for ending its two-year-long war.

At the same time, Trump is planning to meet with Putin in an effort to get him to meet some of Zelensky’s demands.
