After enduring an immensely challenging year, a Fox News host has made her return to the screen following the profound loss of her husband. Anita Vogel, 56, reflected on the past months, which she described as ‘the hardest of times,’ having survived the destructive Southern California fires and the passing of her husband, Mark Rozells. “2025 was a year filled with heartbreak for our family,” Vogel shared on X. “We faced the Palisades Fire in January and, in October, I lost my beloved husband to complications from pancreatic cancer.” She continued, “This period has been incredibly tough for us. After taking several months to cope with this unimaginable loss, we are moving forward slowly, one day at a time, thanks to the grace of God.” Vogel announced her return to the Big Weekend Show, noting that re-engaging with work is part of her healing process, helping to restore a sense of normalcy.
A heartfelt comebackÂ
Expressing gratitude for the support she received, Vogel stated, “We kept this very quiet, but I’m thankful to friends and family for all their support. I’m excited to be back on the show tonight with our wonderful cast. A big thank you to our loyal viewers; see you tonight.” Vogel, a network reporter for nearly 24 years, received an outpouring of encouragement from fans. One supporter commented, “Many of us who admire your work are sending love and support to you and your family.” Another noted, “Your husband must have been incredibly proud of you.” Vogel responded warmly, saying, “Thank you, Margaret. Such a kind sentiment.” Another fan posted, “Welcome back, Anita! God bless you and your family. You’re in my prayers.” A viewer shared a personal story of loss, to which Vogel replied empathetically, “I am so sorry, Pam. May God bring you comfort. I’m deeply sorry for your loss.”
A network familyÂ
Vogel continued to receive heartfelt messages, including one from a user who mentioned losing two sisters to pancreatic cancer. Fox and Friends weekend co-host Griff Jenkins expressed his condolences on X, saying, “Our hearts go out to my colleague @AnitaVogel during this difficult time. Please keep her and her family in your prayers.” He added, “Anita is an incredible talent and a kind soul who deserves our support during this tragic period. We’re praying for you, Anita, and welcome you back with open arms.” Vogel replied with gratitude, “Thank you, Griff – you’re such a dear friend.” She returned to the air alongside co-hosts Lisa Marie Boothe, Joey Jones, and Gianno Caldwell for the Saturday evening segment.
The show addressed current hot topics, including the arrest of former CNN host Don Lemon and Tom Homan’s presence in Minnesota amid protests against Immigration and Customs Enforcement. In a tribute to her husband on the Alliance for Cancer Gene Therapy foundation, Vogel said his death was something they ‘never saw this coming.’ ‘Mark was a college athlete, always fit, always eating a healthy diet, never smoked and had no family history of this disease. Pancreatic cancer is a silent killer that steals people who often don’t have a single symptom until it is too late,’ Vogel’s tribute said. ‘We miss him so much it hurts… Mark had so many amazing traits, but he was always known for his incredible humility. In honor of Mark, try to do one thing this week in a humble manner and think of Mark. It will make you smile.’ Rozell left behind his wife and four children, his father, stepmother, and two sisters.
