JD Vance admits Iran-US truce is ‘fragile’

US Vice President JD Vance has acknowledged that the ceasefire between the United States and Iran remains delicate.

During his address in Budapest, Vance remarked, “This truce is precarious. Some parties are genuinely interested in negotiations to reach a favorable agreement, while others are misleading about the very truce we’ve already established.”

He emphasized that if Iran is prepared to engage sincerely, an agreement is possible.

However, Vance warned that dishonesty and attempts to undermine the fragile peace would lead to dissatisfaction. “Should they choose deceit or obstruction, they won’t be pleased with the outcome,” he added.

Regarding former President Trump, Vance stated, “He has encouraged us to engage in talks. But should Iran fail to reciprocate, they will soon realize that the US president doesn’t take such matters lightly.”

‘He’s impatient. He’s impatient to make progress.’
