For those keeping up with recent military operations, the Trump administration’s efforts to combat illegal drug activities linked to Venezuelan “fishing boats” have been a point of contention. While Democrats argue that these boats are operated by innocent fishermen trying to support their families, the U.S. recently intercepted a drug-running vessel in early September, as reported by my colleague, Streiff.
This situation is closely tied to actions by Democrats such as Senator Mark Kelly (D-AZ), known for his critical “Seditious Six” video. This video was perceived as an attempt to undermine the authority of President Trump, Secretary of War Hegseth, and the entire military command structure.

The positive takeaway for readers is that Republicans are actively engaging in these matters, even as the holiday recess for Congress approaches.
The silver lining here, readers, is that Republicans are not just sitting idly by, even as we inch closer to Congress’ Christmas break.
House Armed Services Committee Chairman Mike Rogers (R-AL-3) signaled during remarks on the House floor on Wednesday, that Republicans are about to lie down, and let radical Dems like Sen. Kelly step all over them.
The committee posted a clip of Rep. Roger’s statement on X:
🚨From Chairman @RepMikeRogersAL on the boat strikes in the Caribbean Sea:
These strikes are lawful under U.S. and international law and all actions are in compliance with the Law of Armed Conflict.
But most importantly, these strikes have dramatically reduced drug smuggling… pic.twitter.com/QGTZIRwEim— Armed Services GOP (@HASCRepublicans) December 17, 2025
He said, in part:
These strikes are lawful under U.S. and international law and all actions are in compliance with the Law of Armed Conflict.
But most importantly, these strikes have dramatically reduced drug smuggling operations.
Americans are safer today because of the President of the United States’ actions.
Now, it’s official. Via a new post on X by the Department of War (DOW), we are learning on Thursday that the GOP committee chair has closed the book on this matter, so to speak, after of a classified briefing for the House Republicans:
It’s done. pic.twitter.com/U0oWNALjuy

I encourage you to watch that less than two minute clip. In other words, the House Armed Services folks are not going to go any further with the investigation. As DOW writes, “It’s done.” While it’s unclear where the article shown in the post comes from, Chairman Rogers said something similar on Dec. 9, with House and Senate Dems breathing down his neck (and Leader Joihn Thune’s) to hold “a full investigation, including public hearings”:
The Republican chair of the House Armed Services Committee said he doesn’t see the need to further investigate a controversial military strike that killed survivors of an attack on an alleged drug running vessel in September.
…
“It’s done,” Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Ala.) told reporters Tuesday when asked about his next moves to probe the incident. “I’ve got all the answers I needed.”

It’s doubtful of course that conservatives/Republicans have heard the last of this line of political attack by the Left, so we’ll keep you posted on where things go.
