Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said in a Tuesday interview that Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) “doesn’t understand” the nuclear threat that Iran poses.

“I like Marjorie, but to be honest with you, she doesn’t understand the threat, in my view,” Graham said in an interview with Fox News’s John Roberts.

“If you don’t understand that Iran, a religious theocracy, religious Nazis would use a nuclear weapon to kill all the Jews, you don’t listen to what they say,” Graham continued. “They’re a threat to us. They’re a threat to the State of Israel. It is not in the world’s interest to give this religious fanatic a nuclear weapon.”

Graham’s remarks come in response to Greene’s opposition to any potential U.S. involvement in the Israel-Iran conflict.

He was asked to respond to her suggestion that “Anyone slobbering for the U.S. to become fully involved in the Israel/Iran war is not America First/MAGA.”

“Wishing for murder of innocent people is disgusting. We are sick and tired of foreign wars. All of them,” she continued, in a post on X.

Their opposing viewpoints reflect a schism emerging among President Trump’s supporters as the U.S. military positions itself to potentially join Israel’s fight and as the president weighs direct action against Tehran to deal a permanent blow to its nuclear program.

But Graham dismissed the split among Republicans, saying very few people in the party oppose supporting Israel.

“Those Republicans who are opposed to supporting Israel against Iran, you could literally put in a phone booth,” he said in the interview.

“I’m not worried about Republicans. Republicans are with Israel,” he added.

The Hill has reached out to Greene’s office for additional comment.
