They arrived at the home of Kimberlee Singler where they found both Singler and her 11-year-old daughter wounded.

Two other children, a 9-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy, were found dead in the home.

The 35-year-old mother and older daughter were treated for their injuries at the scene and then transported to local hospitals.

Singler was allowed to leave to hospital because police did not have probable cause to keep her, local ABC affiliate Denver 7 reported.

At the time she was considered a victim and witness to the crime.

The Colorado Springs Police Department Homicide Unit was called to the scene to begin the investigation.

As the case unfolded, police determined the initial report of a burglary was unfounded.

On December 26, investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Singler on the following charges:

  • Four counts of first-degree murder (Class One Felony)- two counts being for murder and attempted murder with intent after deliberation; and the other two for murder and attempted murder of a child under the age of 12 by a person in a position of trust
  • Two counts of attempted first-degree murder
  • Two counts of child abuse (Class Two Felony)
  • Child abuse (Class Three Felony)
  • First degree-assault (Class Three Felong)

A $10,000,000 bond was set by the court.

The details of the arrest are currently sealed by the court but are expected to be unsealed at a later time.

When the warrant for her arrest was issued, CSPD’s Violent Offender Fugitive Task Force attempted to locate Singler.

She was last seen on Saturday, December 23 and her current whereabouts are unknown.

Police have stated that this is an active investigation.
