DISTURBING details about the new allegations against Harvey Weinstein have been revealed as his sex crimes retrial begins.
The former movie mogul is accused of raping a 16-year-old model named Kaja Sokola at his apartment in 2006, prosecutors said in opening statements in a Manhattan courtroom on Wednesday.
Weinstein, 73, is being newly charged on Sokola’s claims in addition to being retried for criminal sexual and rape charges after his 2020 conviction was thrown out on appeal in a bombshell move last year.
During opening statements in Manhattan Supreme Court, prosecutors told jurors that Weinstein assaulted Sokola when they met for what she thought was a meeting to talk about her “acting potential” in 2006.
Weinstein is accused of taking her up to his apartment and sexually assaulting her.
He allegedly held her down and forcibly performed oral sex on her while she begged him, “Please don’t do this,” prosecutors said.
Weinstein allegedly assaulted Sokola multiple times since they first met over lunch in 2002 when she was just 16, prosecutors said.
One of the times, he reportedly told her, “This is what happens in the industry.”
After another alleged attack, he reportedly name-dropped actresses Gwyneth Paltrow and Penelope Cruz and bragged that he boosted their careers.
He then told Sokola she needed to “work on her stubbornness.”
Weinstein has denied all allegations against him.
