During an appearance on “Spectrum News One” this past Thursday, Representative Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) expressed her view that all past Democratic and Republican presidents have demonstrated patriotism, with the exception of President Donald Trump.
While addressing the potential shift in control of the House after the midterm elections, Pelosi remarked, “Although a small number of seats could suffice, I would prefer to have at least a 30-seat lead. My reasoning is that if the margin is narrow, Republicans might attempt some maneuver to contest the results. Having a more substantial majority acts as a safeguard, which is my preferred approach.”
Pelosi went on to say, “With my extensive experience in politics, spanning various Democratic and Republican administrations, patriotism has been a constant among presidents until now. This election is crucial for us to secure a victory.”
She elaborated, “The essence of our democracy is on the line. Democracy thrives on free and fair elections, an independent judiciary, press freedom, due process, and the rule of law. Under this administration and the current Republican Congress, these principles have been compromised.”
Pelosi concluded with a stark warning, “The issue extends beyond a potential second term for him. It concerns the prospect of the United States Congress relinquishing its authority, essentially surrendering to his every demand.”
