A FAMILY has been left grieving after a devastating car accident killed a four-month-old infant and a toddler.
The family stopped in the middle of the road when they were hit by an oncoming car, police said.
“She was just trying to cross, just trying to cross. We don’t know what she was thinking about or why she was out there that late,” Susie Dunn, a cousin of the victims, told local CBS affiliate WBNS.
Zy’Quarious Hamilton and Zy’Yhon Scott, 5, died after being hit by a car on October 28.
Their sibling, Zymir, remains in the hospital.

The kids’ mother, Danae, had to have surgery on both legs.
“She suffered a broken pelvis, broken nose. She has about 20 stitches down the middle of her forehead,” Dunn told WBNS.
A baby stroller remained toppled over at the scene after the crash.
Mary Zacarias, an aunt of the victims, told the outlet: “The loss is horrific.”
“Oh my goodness, we were so attached to them from birth to the age when they left.”
Police are investigating the crash, but have said that the driver of the car was not at fault.
