FAMILY members of four college students killed in a horrific crash have broken their silence on the tragedy.

Four Pepperdine University students were hit and killed in Malibu, California while standing on the side of the road.

Niamh Rolston, Peyton Steward, Asha Weir, and Deslyn Williams, were all declared dead at the scene while two others were rushed to the hospital.

Fraser Michael Bohm, 22, was arrested for suspicion of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence on Tuesday night in Los Angeles.

It is believed by authorities that Bohm lost control of his car while speeding and slammed into cars parked along the side of the road, those cars then struck the students.

The four deceased women were well known in the campus community, being college seniors in the sorority Alpha Phi.

“No day is more devastating to a tightly knit university community than the day that forces us to come together in grief and sorrow,” Pepperdine President Jim Gash said in a statement.

“One of the greatest mysteries of life is when and why our time on this earth is cut short.

“In such times, we hold firm to our faith in the God who sustains and nourishes us even when – and especially when – we experience life’s most significant losses.”

The mother of Asha, Vinita Weir had dropped off the young woman at the airport expecting to see her back home in Ireland for Thanksgiving.

“I dropped her to Philadelphia airport on Tuesday morning, and she told me she didn’t really want to go back this time but was excited to be coming home again at Thanksgiving,” she shared with NBC News.

“I miss her and don’t know how to do life without her.”

“She had the biggest heart, a beautiful soul, an empath always caring for others and carrying their burdens,” remembered the mother.

As her only daughter, the mother remembers Asha as  “an amazing daughter and sister.”

Vinita had spoken to her daughter earlier in the day after she had arrived safely at the airport.

“I talked to her every day, and not getting her call will break my heart daily,” Vinita said.

Father of Peyton Stewart, Barry Stewart, remembered Peyton’s love of sushi and bright-looking future as a “go-getter”.

“She was on a very good track … careerwise and socially. Good friends. Good habits. She didn’t get into any sort of trouble. … For somebody like that to be taken away so young is hard to comprehend,” he shared.

“I thought the world of her,” said Barry.

“I’m going to miss her terribly. Her friends and the rest of her family feel the same way.”

“I guess the thing we remember about Peyton is her kindness and her love,” he told FOX News in an interview.

He also shared his thoughts on the driver that caused his daughter’s death.

“I’m not sure that me thinking about that person is going to change the situation. I don’t have any plans to go in sit in a courtroom. … I put my faith in the justice system, and I hope my faith is well-placed,” he said.

Before 8 am Wednesday morning, Bohm was released from custody amid the ongoing investigation.

It is currently unclear when that day in court will occur, following Bohm’s arrest.
