A HELICOPTER has crashed into the Hudson River near New York City, and rescue crews are desperately combing the waters for survivors.

Terrifying videos show the wreckage bubbling underneath the water’s surface after the wreck.

According to a user on X, the chopper broke off midair and dropped into the cloudy waters near West Side Highway and Spring Street.

The New York Police Department has confirmed the crash and warned that emergency vehicles would be flocking the scene.

Fire crews have arrived to investigate the crash and search for survivors on land and in the water, the New York Fire Department told The U.S. Sun.

Videos taken from the shore appear to show the bottom of the helicopter partially sticking out of the water as NYPD boats cruise to the wreck.

It’s unclear whether there are any casualties.
