OVER 18,000 high chairs have been recalled after 13 babies were injured by the collapsing pieces.

Customers received an urgent warning to stop using the high chairs as they could be deadly to babies.

The popular baby equipment has a potential fall hazard, according to a recall notice posted on June 12.

The high chair legs can separate from the frame “if the screws connecting the legs are not properly tightened during assembly,” Bugaboo, a Dutch company that sells baby products, warned.

The hazard may pose a “risk of serious injury or death to babies,” according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Bugaboo is voluntarily recalling 18,280 of its Giraffe high chairs due to the potentially fatal issues.

The recalled high chairs were sold between May 2023 and April 2025.

The products were bought at Nordstrom or online stores like Amazon.

Buyers typically shelled out about $380 on the luxury high chairs.

At least 22 people have reported the legs of the chair detaching, according to the CPSC.

The 22 reports include 13 reports of minor injuries.

Anyone with the recalled Giraffe high chairs should stop using them immediately and contact Bugaboo for a free repair kit.

Customers who ordered a high chair after May 1, 2025, will automatically have the repair kit included with their purchase, Bugaboo said.

The kit includes an Allen key and new screws to tighten the legs of the high chair.

The kit’s instruction manual explains how to replace the current screws with the better screws using the Allen key.

“Even if you believe your current screws are installed correctly, we recommend that you follow this procedure,” Bugaboo said.

Bugaboo added a self-service portal on their website so shoppers can immediately order free repair kits.

The ordered kits will be delivered within two weeks.

“Safety is paramount to ensure the well-being of our customers and their children,” Bugaboo said.

The recalled high chairs were made in the Czech Republic, according to the CPSC.

Bugaboo is a brand known for its baby items, including strollers, car seats, and travel accessories.

The company hasn’t returned The U.S. Sun’s request for comment.
