A HOMEOWNER’s driveway was stolen and people all over the world sent her money to help pay for the damages, but now she’s choosing to give it away.

Amanda Brochu had just listed her Orange County Florida home for sale right before she was scammed by five independent contractors.

The contractors told the woman that they received a quote for $7,000 from someone claiming to be the home’s landlord.

However, Brochu, who owns the home, never contacted anyone for repairs on her driveway.

The man admitted it was a mistake but continued to work on the driveway regardless.

Brochu had left for work and returned to find her driveway completely gutted from her yard.

She shared a GoFundMe page to help earn money to repair the damages from the contractors, and now she is revealing what she did with the money.

The U.S. Sun previously reported that the woman had raised more than $13,000 from people all over the world.

However, a Cox Media Group radio sponsor paid for the entire $10,000 bill after she had raised $13,000.

Since she raised more money than anticipated, Brochu vowed to donate the leftover earnings to charity.

“I was put in a bad situation,” Brochu said, per local ABC affiliate WFTV, “But there’s a beautiful outcome to this story.”

Brochu donated the $10,000 to The Russell Home in Orlando, Florida.

The nonprofit was founded in the early 1950s and is the state’s oldest independent facility specializing in the care of newborns, children, and adults with severe disabilities.

The money would help pay for The Russell Home’s bills, and could even be put towards medical equipment, including hearing aids and cribs for babies.

“She believed that if this is going to work, it’s because God and the community is going to support it, and it’s worked for 72 years,” Mike Beam said of founder Vantrease Russell.

“I still get goosebumps hearing about [Brochu’s donation].”

Brochu surprised The Russell Home with the donation at their Run For The Russell Home event.

Brochu was able to present the $10,000 check to the facility with the help of WFTV and McCoy Federal Credit Union.

“I didn’t think I was going to receive the attention, but I got it for a reason,” Brochu told WFTV. “It’s going to a good cause.”
