AN eight-month-old baby has been found living alongside a rotting goat carcass and more than 40 animals in a squalid home.

Shocking snaps from inside the property show animals in crates stacked on top of each other, and rooms covered in clutter and waste.

Police revealed they found 47 animals inside the home in Honea Path, South Carolina, as reported by the NBC affiliate WMBF-TV.

Cops discovered raccoons, dogs and chickens, while a goat’s decomposing body was found in the bathroom.

Police believe the animal’s body had been in the tub for several days, as reported by the Fox affiliate WHNS-TV.

Pictures showed the kitchen worktops cluttered with garbage, pots and pans, and the stove looked grimy.

A single pot was on one of the hobs, while its white top was dirty and a spatula was lying on it.

The floor was strewn with waste and black garbage bags.

Another horror picture from inside the home showed starving dogs in cages, and rooms covered in feces.

The animals were left abandoned in cages and officials feared they had been locked away for a lengthy period of time.

And, maggots were seen crawling in a bowl that was by one of the cages.

“Just seeing the animals in that condition, it was evident that they’ve not been out of those crates for quite some time,” Kim Sanders, an official from the PAWS animal shelter, said.

Sanders revealed that it was difficult to breathe inside the home.

Police revealed that an eight-month-old child lived in the squalid home.

Their parents, Kayla Renard and Nicholas Foley, have since been charged.

But, cops were taken aback by their reactions when they were arrested.

HORROR EXPERIENCE

Chris Miller, the Honea Path police chief, described the condition of the home as one of his most horrific experiences.

“No facial expressions,” he said.

“You would think that they’d be a little upset that someone was taking their eight-month-old baby, that the police were there and discovered the horrific conditions of this house.”

They have been hit with a child abuse charge and have been accused of animal cruelty.

Cops have provided an update on the baby, saying they are ok.
