Democrats are not only taking these losses one by one, but the effort to push back on Trump has left them embarrassed, demoralized, and searching for answers. Let’s look at five ways the Dems lost to Trump and lost their minds. 

Self-Owns 

No one can pull a classic self-own better than the Democrats. Typically, the party is pretty good at sticking together. It can be hard at times to peel off certain members to vote with Republicans. Well, that was not the case last month when Rep. Al Green (D-Texas) attempted a vote to impeach President Trump. The vote failed on the House floor by a count of 344 to 79. The founder of OutKick.com, Clay Travis, put it this way on X: 

Democrat impeachment attempt against Trump fails 344 to 79. Democrats voted against impeaching Trump 128 to 79. Tough look for AOC.

I never thought I’d see a day when Democrats on the House floor voted in favor of keeping Donald Trump in office. That was something to behold. 

Stupid Stunts

Usually, when a member of Congress is going to do something stupid, it doesn’t involve taxpayer dollars. That was not the case when Maryland Senator Chris Van Hollen took a trip to El Salvador to rescue a “Maryland constituent.” After deporting Kilmar Abrego Garcia to El Salvador, Sen. Van Hollen began his crusade to get this upstanding man back to his family in America. The only problem? Garcia is an MS-13 gang member who entered the country illegally and has ties to human trafficking. This is the man Van Hollen wanted to bring back to the United States? The Department of Homeland Security put it this way:

Kilmar Abrego Garcia is not a “Maryland Man”—he is an MS-13 gang member involved in human trafficking who entered the United States illegally. His removal from the United States should have occurred under the Biden Administration. He will not return to our country under the Trump Administration.

Once Abrego Garcia was deported, Van Hollen made a show of his trip to El Salvador and the subsequent meeting he had with him. Politically, I know how the game is played, sometimes we push the limit to make a point—but this stunt by Van Hollen was purely driven by Trump Derangement Syndrome. Plus, our tax dollars paid for the trip.
