NOTORIOUS serial killer John Wayne Gacy was convicted of 33 counts of murder and executed in 1994.
Although his crimes made national headlines, little is known about the family he used to have.
How many children does John Wayne Gacy have?
John Wayne Gacy was an American serial killer who was convicted of 33 counts of murder and sentenced to death in 1980.
Because he volunteered as a clown for local parties and children’s hospitals before his arrest, he later became known as the Killer Clown.
Although he had frequent sexual encounters with men and teenage boys, he married twice to two women and had two children.
He had two children with his first wife, Marlynn Myers. In 1966, the couple welcomed a son named Michael.
Their daughter, Christine, was born a little over a year later.
Gacy also had two stepdaughters from his second marriage to Carole Hoff.
Did John Wayne Gacy’s kids have a relationship with him?
After John Wayne Gacy was convicted of killing 33 people in 1980, most of his family reportedly distanced themselves from him.
His children have lived quiet lives away from publicity, and not much information is available about them.
However, it is rumored that they may have changed their names in an attempt to sever any ties to their father.
In 2010, Gacy’s sister Karen told Oprah that her niece and nephew did not respond to her attempts to reach out to them.
She said, “I tried sending gifts to the children. Everything was returned.”
“I often wonder about them, but if [their mother] wants a private life. I think she’s owed that. Think the children are owed that.”
Where are John Wayne Gacy’s children now?
Following John Wayne Gacy’s arrest in 1978, conviction in 1980, and execution in 1994, his family has mostly maintained a low profile.
Before being arrested for the murders in 1978, Gacy had been convicted for sodomizing a minor in 1968 and sentenced to ten years.
Although he only served 18 months in prison, his first wife divorced him and took their two children with her by the time he was released.
The whereabouts of Michael and Christine are unknown as of 2024.
