DRAMATIC footage has captured the moment a Walmart shopper was knelt on by a cop after he didn’t show his grocery receipt.
Dayton Borisouth was adamant that he didn’t break any law after he didn’t show the piece of paper.
He was stopped after buying a frozen pizza at the self-checkout station at the supermarket in Kansas City, Kansas in June.
But the shopper thought he didn’t have to show the receipt, as reported by the CBS affiliate KCTV.
He told the outlet: “He [The police officer] said, ‘Got your receipt?’”
The shopper said: “And I answered. I said ‘Yes.’ And then I just kept walking.”
Borisouth recalled how he warned the cop to stop chasing him before saying: “You don’t have the right to detain me. I didn’t break any laws.”
Footage that was shared on TikTok showed a shirtless Borisouth getting pinned down by cops inside the store.
He was restrained before one officer put his knee on the shopper’s neck.
The shopper was handcuffed and led away from the store while the pizza box was lying outside the entrance.
Cops later realized that Borisouth had, in fact, paid for the pizza after reading his receipt.
Borisouth was initially slapped with a failure to comply charge before it was later dismissed.
The Kansas City Police Department launched a probe into the incident after the footage emerged.

They said: “The investigation also concluded that one of the responding officers employed techniques that are not approved, nor trained, by the Department.”
The police force said the officers were disciplined “consistent with policy and will undergo additional training to ensure future compliance.”
But, Borisouth said the incident would “stick with him” for the rest of his life.
He said: “I’m probably always going to be scared of cops now and fearing for my daughter and my son and what they’re going to have to go through as they get older.”
Walmart shoppers are not legally required to show their receipts at the store, but staffers may quiz customers if they suspect that they didn’t pay for the goods, per the ABC affiliate KXTV.
Legal expert Alex Colangelo has claimed that Walmart cannot legally enforce receipt checks, as reported by the Toronto Star.
He said: “Police officers have the power to arrest … but store security and loss-prevention officers are regular people.
“They have much more limited powers of arrest under the criminal code.
“They can ask you to show your receipt and you can consensually allow them to do it. But there is no power or authority to detain you if you say no.”
But Costco shoppers are required to show their receipts at the door.
The chain said: “It is standard practice at all our warehouse locations to verify purchase receipts when customers exit our buildings.
We do this to double-check that the items purchased have been correctly processed by our cashiers.
“It’s our most effective method of maintaining accuracy in inventory control, and it’s also a good way to ensure that our members have been charged properly for their purchases.”
