A TEENAGER swapped his flat for a life on the tracks – and now calls a train carriage his home.

While most 18-year-olds are still figuring things out, Lasse Stolley ditched rent and set up shop on the rails, working and living among commuters every single day.

Lasse moved out of his flat in Fockbek, Schleswig-Holstein in Germany at age 16 after his apprenticeship fell through.

He now lives full-time on trains and has spent the last two years sleeping on overnight ICE trains, having breakfast in DB lounges, and showering in public swimming pools and leisure centres.

Lasse has revealed how he navigates chaotic timetables, rail strikes and stressed-out staff – all while still managing to get a solid night’s kip.

The teen bagged himself a golden ticket thanks to a £8.5k Bahncard that lets him travel anywhere, anytime, in first class.

His parents weren’t too keen at first and needing some convincing before letting their teenage son swap his bedroom for the rails.

But when they agreed, Lasse embraced life on the move – and now dishes out his top travel tips after perfecting his offbeat lifestyle.

As a self-employed software developer and lifestyle blogger Lasse has complete freedom over his working hours.

And with the benefit of free Wifi on board the trains he uses, work could not be any easier.

You would think the downside would be that he is surrounded by commuters, but Lasse still wouldn’t swap his nomadic life for a normal 9-5 anytime soon.

He said: “Sometimes the trains are stressful and not on time for me too, but more importantly trains mean freedom, the chance to choose where to travel every day.

“No matter where [I want to go], the trains can take me there.”

Lasse shares his adventures on his blog Life on the Train – and by night, he transforms the train seats into his own makeshift bed.

He revealed: “Personally I can sleep very well on trains. I sleep on a four seater – usually with my feet on the seat opposite and my knees in the air. I tried out other ways of sleeping too.

“I tried sleeping on an air mattress in the baggage area, or under the seats. I tried many ways, but I decided sleeping on the four seater was best.”

Lasse’s kept a low profile in recent months, with his last Instagram post coming from Budapest back in October during an interrailing spree.

But train spotters say you can still catch a glimpse of him living the high life… if you know where to look.
