A TikTok user has exposed that Costco workers don’t check very thoroughly when they look at your receipt after checkout.

The shopper was very methodical in how they went about exposing the truth about Costco’s receipt checking.

In a recent TikTok, @theboringbros2022 filmed themselves checking out at Costco with a cart full of items.

They decided to do two separate transactions with two things on one receipt and the rest of the haul on the other.

The caption on the video read, “I am always wondering what Costco workers are actually looking for then they check your receipt at the exit.”

Once the shopper got to the exit and an employee asked to look at the receipt, they only handed one of the receipts over which had two items left off of it.

The caption continued, “Maybe they can spot the extra items?”

But the employee did not catch the two-item discrepancy.

Instead, the employee marked the receipt as checked and the shopper exited the store.

Several Costco shoppers took to the comments to share what they know about the receipt-checking process.

“The [sic] check that you never were charged twice my mom works at Costco,” one person wrote.

“I heard they were just checking for big ticket items,” someone else said.

“Debit transaction approval, date and big ticket item,” another wrote.

“It’s so you can’t go back in and double dip” another said.

The U.S. Sun has reached out to Costco for comment.
