THE decadent Inauguration Day White House luncheon menu has been revealed, and some items are a subtle nob to Kamala Harris and ex-running mate Tim Walz.
Over 200 guests will be dining in the Capitol’s National Statuary Hall after President Donald Trump officially swears in as president.
Diners will be greeted with a glass of sparkling wine from Gruet Winery in New Mexico when they sit down in the gorgeous great hall, according to C-Span.
Then, the political powerhouses will have a delicious Chesapeake crab cake with tomato tartar, bay sauce, pickled vegetables, romanesco, dill, and chive oil.
Paired with that dish will be a chardonnay from Veritas Vinyards in Monticello, Virginia.
And for the second course, lucky guests will get to feast on an angus ribeye steak from Omaha, Nebraska, that’s served with broccoli rabe, carrot top herb sauce, red wine truffle jus, and potato gratin.
Paired with that dish will be a cabernet sauvignon from Napa Valley, California – Harris’ home state.
And finally, the third course will consist of a Minnesota apple ice box terrine with sour cream ice cream and salted caramel, a nod to Walz’ home state.
That delicious dessert comes with a sparkling Korbel wine also from California.
The menu gave a final nod to Trump’s former rivals despite their embarrassing loss to the former president in November.
Trump is set to swear in at 12 pm ET after he met with President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden for a preinaugural tea.
This is a time-honored tradition that represents a peaceful transfer of power.
Trump strolled up to a warm greeting from his rivals alongside wife Melania – who has been praised for her “classy” inauguration outfit.
She is wearing a double-breasted coat designed by Adam Lippes, a boater-style hat by Eric Javits, and dark blue Manolo Blahnik pumps.
Meanwhile, Harris was blasted for her dark outfit, which some critics said was fit for a funeral.
