In a significant move, President Donald Trump declared that the United States will assume control over the Strait of Hormuz, a vital waterway in global trade. This strategic decision involves clearing the area of mines and subsequently opening it up for international passage, effectively curbing Iran’s capacity to exploit it as a point of leverage.

Emphasizing the U.S.’s firm stance, President Trump stated unequivocally that Iran would not be permitted to derive any benefit from its activities in the Strait. This assertion underscores the administration’s intent to neutralize any economic advantages Iran might seek through control of this critical maritime corridor.

Demonstrating their commitment to this policy, the U.S. showcased its naval might by dispatching two warships through the Strait of Hormuz. Notably, Iran was unable to impede their passage, highlighting the U.S.’s dominant presence and capability to enforce its strategic objectives in the region.

The US has also deployed minesweepers to the Strait of Hormuz to rebuild confidence among oil vessels seeking to traverse the critical chokepoint in the future.

“We will also begin destroying the mines the Iranians laid in the Straits. Any Iranian who fires at us, or at peaceful vessels, will be BLOWN TO HELL!” Trump warned.

The U.S. already demonstrated that power by having two warships transit the Strait, and Iran was unable to stop them.
